Faster charging
With the same 6 A of excess solar, Earth EV charges at 12 A (≈ 2.8 kW) instead of 6 A (≈ 1.4 kW).
Same solar. Faster overall EV charging. Earth EV still uses all your excess solar — it simply adds the 6 A grid base on top.

Simple rule: Solar+ waits until there is enough excess solar to reach the EV's minimum charging current, using approximately 5 A of excess solar plus 1 A from the grid. It is about prioritising solar rather than differentiating charging speed.
